About the Artist
Painting with Purpose

Pamela Lofgren-Wilde is a native of Chicago but has resided in Maryland for nearly thirty years. Pamela received her formal training at the Chicago-based American Academy of Art and graduated with a degree in Advertising Design and Illustration. Her early career was spent in Tacoma, Washington where she worked for the Tacoma News Tribune from 1984 to 1989. While employed with the Tacoma News Tribune she worked extensively in advertising design and editorial illustration creating original art for weekly publication.
Evolving as a portrait artist she studied intensively through adult continued education, mentorship and independent study.
Working in oils and from direct observation her subject matter is varied. Pamela’s true passion lies in the many and varied challenges presented by the portrait, figure and plein-air landscape.
Pamela recently completed a one-year community portrait project. Portraits from Havre de Grace culminated in a solo exhibition of 120 paintings that where created in a live three-hour Alla-Prima session. Exhibited at Artists Emporium March – April 2019 and later at the World Trade Center Baltimore May – June 2019.
Pamela Lofgren-Wilde is available for commissioned work and enjoys working with clients to produce one of a kind works.
